Cooberrie Park in fine form after Cyclone Marcia restoration

WITH a host of new baby arrivals and new attractions, Cooberrie Park has come a long way since February.

The wildlife sanctuary was hit hard by Cyclone Marcia earlier in the year, and has come back better than ever.

Almost all of the park's structures were damaged in the natural disaster, racking up more than $550,000 worth of damage.

Over the September school holidays, two new attractions were opened - a cassowary enclosure, along with a major mitchell and eclectus parrot enclosure.

Cooberrie Park is also welcoming new dingo puppies in coming weeks.

Back in September, the sanctuary declared that all buildings that had been damaged in the cyclone had been replaced.

Work had continued on-site since the park re-opened in Easter.

"Massive thank you to Royal Wolf and Fitzroy Towing for helping us recover from Cyclone Marcia," their Facebook page read.

"Royal Wolf provided us with a shipping container for us to hold the parks equipment and animal food supplies as our buildings were destroyed. These buildings have now been replaced."

The community had rallied behind the wildlife sanctuary after the disaster, offering their time and money.
