DEVELOPERS of a massive new Coast water park say they will start earthworks as soon as possible after receiving council approval.

Sanad Capital chief executive officer Bradley Sutherland said he received Sunshine Coast Council approval on Monday to begin bulk earthworks at the Glenview site.

"Tenders went out last week to six civil contractors based on the Sunshine Coast and in Brisbane, who will submit their bids to complete the bulk earthworks for the entire site," Mr Sutherland said.

He said it was a significant milestone for the $450 million Actventure development.

"We... are in the final stages of completing the bidding process, which will begin the critical work of laying down the foundations of Australia's most exciting tourism and entertainment project in years."

Mr Sutherland said earthworks would include construction of a new lagoon area and beautification of existing waterways.

He said the first phase of the four-phase project would be construction of the water park and a great lawn for major community activities and sporting events.

"Phase two will consist of a four-star, 220-room family hotel, with conferencing services.

"Phase three (will be) an action sports precinct with world-class BMX and skateboarding facilities, plus a huge indoor sport's training centre with parkour, gymnastics and more."
