NOTORIOUS conman Peter Foster has allegedly obtained a false Irish passport as part of an apparent plan to flee the country and collect millions of dollars he has stashed overseas.

The Sunday Age has obtained a copy of a passport from the Republic of Ireland created for Foster in the name of Kevin Anthony McMullan, a New Zealand-born 62-year-old.

State, federal and international law enforcement are aware of the existence of the false documentation. There is no suggestion the person named on the passport is in any way involved with Foster.

Private investigator Ken Gamble, who has been tracking Foster on behalf of 160 investors burned in Foster's latest scam, told The Sunday Age that Foster had means to leave the country undetected.

It is understood that Foster paid $US1 million for a luxury boat called The Next Adventure, which is moored in the Cook Islands. The money is believed to have been stolen from a South African investor in Foster's Sports Trading Club scheme.
