Concert keeps getting better
DEE Jays 37th annual Stage Spectacular Concert promises to catch the attention of all spectators.
Dee Jays School of Dance principal Denise Hadley said she was motivated by a desire to present a show everyone could enjoy.
"I promised I would put on a show even dads can enjoy, even if you don't have any dance knowledge you will be entertained,” she said.
"I uphold that every year - it has to be something where the general public says they had a good night.”
Ms Hadley said relatives from as far as Melbourne travelled to Proserpine year after year to catch this spectacular night.
The spectacular dance concert showcases a technical progression of talent from dancers aged 3-17 years.
Dancers aged 3-5 years will dazzle the audience with ballet.
Older dancers perform a mixture of tap, ballet, jazz, modern hip-hop and musical theatre.
A special adult group will perform an Abba-inspired routine, featuring the song Gimme Gimme Gimme.
The first half of the show will have a circus theme and kids will enjoy free fairy floss and popcorn on arrival.
Ms Hadley said the concert got better every year.
"It is always said after a concert it could never be better than last year,” she said.
"We had our first rehearsal on Wednesday and I was told it was better than last year.”
The concert brings together 110 dancers from Proserpine and Bowen at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre.
Ms Hadley welcomes people of all abilities to participate in free dancing lessons two weeks after the concert.
