'Cold self-interest' leads to ignorance

THE prevalence of domestic violence must not continue to be ignored in this culture of cold self interest.

QT Editor Peter Chapman in his editorial, "Vigilante 60 Minutes crew got what they certainly deserved", makes a valid point about "cold self interest". Modern society can take a leaf from Holocaust survivor, Primo Levi who endured 11 months in Germany's infamous death camp in 1944,until his untimely death in 1987.

Primo Levi said this: "You were not made to live your lives as brutes, but to be followers of worth and knowledge". Need I say anymore?
