Coffs.tv to air

THE Coffs Coast is being showcased to an international audience.

The worldwide viewers have been reached after an online TV channel was launched by Council at T.H.E. Exchange on Thursday.

Councillor Jenny Bonfield, one of Coffs Harbour's digital champions, launched the site along with international specialist in regenerating communities and consultant on the city's Switched On Coffs digital strategy, Dr Tim Williams.

"Switched On Coffs.tv is an exciting step forward by Council into digital communications and an opportunity to establish the city and region as a highly attractive place to relocate family and business," Cr Bonfield said.

"While Switched On Coffs.tv has clear economic development objectives, it also provides a place to celebrate our community and culture, our creative industries and our youth."

Switched on Coffs.tv is an independently-branded You Tube platform with six channels.

The platforms were constructed and designed by Online Interactive on the Central Coast and customised by Council's Economic Development Unit.

Content has been developed by Council staff in collaboration with local photographers, film-makers and others in the creative industries.

The community is now being invited to contribute film and ideas for stories about lifestyle, business, community events, youth and creative industries.
