Coffs boardriders up against wildcard entries

COFFS Harbour Boardriders will have six more boardrider clubs to worry about in the build up to the the nudie Australian Boardriders Battle Series V National Final.

Six wildcard clubs - Torquay, Elouera, North Narrabeen, Culburra, North Shelly Beach and Bondi - have entered the fray.

Included in these teams are some of the world's best surfing talent. Culburra might field three members of the Wright family, including 2017 World Surging League Women's World Champion Tyler and her two brothers Owen and Mikey.

The nudie Australian Boardriders Battle Series V National Final will be held at Newcastle Beach over February 17-18.

Surfing Australia CEO Andrew Stark said clubs will battle for more than $100,000 in prize money.

"The nudie Australian Boardriders Battle Series is a critical Surfing Australia sport development program that builds the capacity and profile of our national boardriders clubs,” Stark said.

" We are extremely proud of the national club program and look forward to crowning a champion in Newcastle in February.”
