Coast's Bruce Hwy speed limit to increase by 30km/h by 2020

THE Sunshine Coast stretch of the Bruce Highway will see a 30km/h speed limit increase before the end of 2020, according to the Sunshine Coast Daily.

From Caloundra Road to Sunshine Motorway, the Bruce Highway will rise from 80km/h to 110km/h when the current $812.95 million upgrade project is completed.

The upgrades are designed to separate long-distance traffic from local traffic movements, allowing the highway to function as a high-speed, high-volume corridor.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) said the multi-million dollar project was "progressing well".
