Coast security guard attacked in Caloundra pub brawl

A 32-year-old Meridian Plains man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm after an attack at the Caloundra RSL Friday night.

Coast police had attended the Caloundra RSL with multiple crews after reports a large disturbance broke out inside the main bar area.

Police alleged security guards were surrounded by a large crowd when officers arrived.

A 55-year-old security guard was on the receiving end of the violent punch, police alleged.

The 32-year-old was arrested and charged.

He will appear at the Caloundra Magistrates Court April 4.
