Coast rapper breaks 'world record'

CONTROVERSIAL Coast rapper, T-Dub claims to have made music history by breaking a world record with his latest video shot at the Gold Coast.

The rapper, in conjunction with producer Paul Stevens, filmed more than 300 modified cars in the one clip to set the record for his latest release Cruisin'.

The pair claim the video set the world record for most cars used in a music clip and say it is one not likely to be beaten.

The venture was the biggest production the duo had collaborated on.

It brought together a large crew of cameraman, drone operators and technicians who had previously worked individually on T-Dub projects.

The idea started over a conversation during drinks one night and when the duo invited car enthusiasts to be involved by social media they were "blown away" by the response.

Within 24 hours the post went viral and more than 100 cars were locked in, T-Dub said.

Within a week more than 300 owners had committed their rides to the project.

"It was the most unbelievable sight I had ever seen," T-Dub said.

Mr Stevens said his heart went out to all the amazing people who donated their "fantastic rides" and gave up their Sunday to help.

"We will be forever grateful," Mr Stevens said.

"This record will probably never be beaten."

A victim of bullying as a child, and sometimes on the wrong side of the law, T-Dub now uses his music for good.

He contributes to anti-drug campaigns on the Coast trying to help kids get off ice and other drugs. Fine-tuning his craft for more than 15 years, T-Dub says his style is unique and continually evolving.

The latest track, involving the cars, is a remake of the Smokey Robinson hit, Cruising.
