Coast man charged with serious assault of security guard

A SUNSHINE Coast man has been arrested and charged over the serious assault of a hotel security guard.
The 44-year-old Parrearra man will appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on July 20 charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
The charges relate to the assault of a security guard at Kawana Waters Hotel on May 11, which a police spokeswoman at the time described as a "big brawl involving multiple people”.
It was reported the security guard was knocked unconscious and suffered facial injuries.
He was taken by ambulance to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
