Coast golfers dominate Queensland interstate teams
GOLF: Four Pelican Waters golfers and one coach will represent Queensland at the Australian Interstate Matches championships in Western Australia in May, Golf Queensland is reporting this afternoon.
Charlie Dann, who was recently named Queensland Amateur Golfer of the Year will lead the charge alongside fellow Pelican Waters member Chris Crabtree.
Maroochy River and Pelican Waters member Shae Wools-Cobb also made the cut, with renowned Pelican Waters coach Grant Field to coach the men's and women's teams.
Completing the quaddie is Pelican Waters teenager Sarah Wilson, 16, who was named in the women's team.
The Interstate Matches return to Western Australia for the first time since 2011, with the competition to be played at Royal Fremantle.
The men's team will look to go one better in 2017, after it finished second to New South Wales last year.
Dann has had a year to remember, claiming the Australian Master of the Amateurs trophy in December, before he most recently finished as the top amateur at the Queensland PGA Championship.
Dann recently returned to the top of the Australian Amateur Rankings and now sits well inside the world's top-50 (41st).
Wools-Cobb sits just outside the top-50 in 52nd.
