A CITY break has become a trip the Duffy family will never forget.

Not because of the sights they might see or the shopping they might do, but because of the what they chose to do when they saw a homeless man sitting on the cold concrete with just a blanket.

Caloundra cupcake store owner Stormy Duffy and her family had just checked into their Sydney apartment and headed off to a nearby cafe for lunch when the came across the man.

"Once in the cafe it got me thinking how I could help," she said.

"Whilst discussing this with my family we decided we would get some care packs together for some of the homeless (people) in the city.

"We got Ubers around to pick up supplies; I spent around $120, 50 of that was given to me by my 12-year-old daughter, which was from her very own birthday money."

Mum, dad and their two girls put together packages with food, water, toothbrushes and razors, and delivered them to people in the streets.

"I am so happy and so proud of my little family this has definitely been a trip to remember," Ms Duffy said.

"If I can teach my girls one thing in this lifetime, it is to be good human."
