City Stars Kindergarten celebrates Harmony Day with colour
CITY Stars Kindergarten children enjoyed exploring handcrafted Aboriginal art by Yolngu artists of Arnhem Land to celebrate Harmony Day.
They practised the technique of dot-style art and cross hatching and learned how to identify and paint some traditional Aboriginal symbols.
They also enjoyed dressing up in international costumes and playing didgeridoos. This sparked plenty of conversation and engaged the children in activities that broaden respect for diversity and celebrate our rich cultural history.
The City Stars Kindergarten is part of Caloundra City Private School at Pelican Waters.
