City rocks to park concert

WHAT better way to spend a glorious Sunday, than with wine, music, a picnic blanket and gourmet foods in the beautiful surrounds of Queens Park.

Thousands of people flocked to the main stage of the Heritage Building Society Live Concert Series yesterday for an afternoon of music in the park

Crowds waited patiently in the sunshine for Australian music icon Daryl Braithwaite to take to the stage and the aging rocker did not disappoint.

Along with his band, Braithwaite took the level up a notch with a solid performance, his second in the region this year.

"Once again it is a privilege to be asked back to Toowoomba for a second time this year," Mr Braithwaite said.

With the crowd getting well into the swing of things, Braithwaite serenaded the crowd with hits including, One Summer, The Horses and As The Days Go By.

Following Braithwaite onstage yesterday was local group The Countdowns who can boast they are Australia's longest-running rock 'n roll cabaret group.

The Beatles tribute show, The Beatnix, were tasked with bringing the Heritage Building Society Live Concert Series to a close for another year.
