Cigarette break-in bandits strike roadhouse

POLICE are investigating the break-in and robbery of a roadhouse at Wowan in the early hours of Sunday morning as well as similar robberies at Booyal overnight Friday and Monto overnight Sunday. 

At about 3.30am on Saturday morning, two male suspects have arrived at the Wowan Roadhouse at 2 Leichhardt Highway in an SUV type vehicle. 

Both offenders were wearing masks and headwear.

They have entered the premises by breaking a fibro wall panel on the front wall of the roadhouse (exterior and interior) to gain entry.

Offenders have stolen cigarettes from the shelving behind the counter inside the roadhouse and have placed these cigarettes into crates taken from outside the roadhouse.

Similar break and enters are being investigated at Monto and Booyal over the past two days. 

Police are appealing to members of the public for assistance in locating this vehicle.

Both offenders appear to be slim to proportionate build 160-70cm tall.

One offender is wearing a baseball cap.

The other suspect is wearing a hoody.

It is unknown at this stage if the vehicle of interest is a stolen vehicle.
