TOOWOOMBA mother Genevieve Ashby believes The Chronicle's new kids' activity guide is exactly what parents have been calling for.

Launching on July 28, This Week for Kids will be the place to go to discover all the best activities for mums, dads and their little ones.

Ms Ashby said she enjoyed getting out with her son, Kye, and said the guide would be great to help her find activities for the pair.

"I found there wasn't much online for local mothers and it was hard to find stuff in Toowoomba," Ms Ashby said.

"To be able to quickly find exciting things to entertain the kids makes things a lot easier and is definitely something I know other local mothers will appreciate."

One of the many events set to feature in The Chronicle's This Week for Kids guide is Story Time at Savvy Toys.

Story Time co-ordinator Denise Patterson said the sessions had grown in popularity.

"We run Story Time at Savvy Toys twice a week, on a Wednesday and Friday, with numbers always really strong," MsPatterson said.

"It is not just about reading a story to the kids, they are so much more.

"It has become also a great opportunity for parents to spend time with their kids as well as talk to other mothers and fathers."

Toowoomba Chronicle marketing manager Kristy Hayes was excited about the launch of This Week for Kids and hoped it became a useful tool for parents.

"If you are looking for things to do during the week with young children then This Week for Kids will have the answers," she said.

"It will be a place for busy parents to find information about what is going on around town so they can get out and about with their kids."
