Chris Martin wants 'Downton Abbey' cameo

CHRIS Martin wants to appear on 'Downton Abbey'.

The Coldplay frontman, who is dating 'Peaky Blinders' actress Annabelle Wallis, is a huge fan of the period drama and admits he'd love to make a cameo as a piano tuner on the upcoming Christmas special next month, which will be the show's last ever episode.

Asked what TV series he would like to star on if given the chance, the 37-year-old British rocker said: "'Downton Abbey.' Maybe like a guest piano tuner."

Donning his best Yorkshire accent, the 'Magic' hitmaker then quipped: "Oh, regular tuning, sir,"

When Absolute Radio Breakfast Show host Christian O'Connell said: "Julian Fellows [the show's creator] might write you into the Christmas special of 'Downton Abbey'."

Chris replied: "It's not too late."

A string of other celebrities have also previously expressed interest in guest-starring on the show, including Kim Kardashian West, Ted Danson, Taylor Swift and Oscar winning-actress Cate Blanchett, who revealed earlier this year that she'd reached out to producers.

The 'Blue Jasmine' star said: "I did have words and I followed up with my agent, no call has yet been received - but I'm seeing the girls [from the show] again today, so I'll get them to put a good word in."

Actors who have made brief appearances in the popular drama over the years include Richard E. Grant, Paul Giamatti and Shirley Maclaine.
