Childers baker scares off jewellery thieves

TWO men were foiled in their attempted break-in of Myatt Jewellers in Childers on Sunday morning after a nearby baker startled them.

The men used a sledgehammer to break the front door of the Churchill St business about 12.15am before being interrupted by the baker.

No items were stolen.

The men were last seen driving south on Churchill St in a grey Hyundai i30.
