The quality of this year's applications were outstanding as highlighted by the following finalists in each category.
Queensland Times Senior Sportsperson of the Year: Alyce Stephenson (weightlifting), Andrew Campbell (baseball), Archie Graham (tennis), Brayden Fender (crossfit and weightlifting), Deanna Lockett (short track speed skating), Derek Murray (Haidong Gumdo), Dylan Wenzel-Halls (football), Kurtis Pegoraro (boxing and Muay Thai).
City of Ipswich Junior Sportsperson of the Year: Abigail Evetts (football), Annie McGuire (athletics), Blake Murray (taekwondo), Dylan McAteer (cricket), Joshua Routledge (softball), Kaito Nelson (tennis), Kayne Welman (mixed martial arts), Poppy Wilson (swimming), Rochelle Vidler (athletics), Sabbath Smercnik (Brazilian jiu jitsu), Sophia Preston (BMX), Tamzin Christoffel (taekwondo), Waimania Paikea (dance), Zac Profke (hockey).
Masters Sportsperson of the Year: Brian Hansen (target rifle shooting), Clay Dawson (long distance running), Michael Berlin (athletics), Sharyn Crouchen (ten pin bowling), Simon Knechtli (powerlifting), Steven Graham (weightlifting).
University of Southern Queensland Team of the Year: Goodna Sapphires (netball), Ipswich City Brisbane Women's Premier League (football), Ipswich Force Under 12 girls (basketball), Ipswich Rangers Pegg Cup (rugby union), Western Pride under 13 girls (football), Swifts Division 1 Pennants (lawn bowls).
Sporting Organisation of the Year: Ipswich and West Moreton BMX Club, Ipswich Basketball Association, Ipswich Netball Association, Ipswich Rangers Rugby Union Club, Springfield Runners Group, Western Pride Football Club.
Volunteer of the Year: Claudia Murray (taekwondo), Darryl Kitching (football), Debbie Herrmann (football), Melissa Smith (Ipswich Little Athletics), Natalie Fox (rugby league), Paula Watkins and Kaylene Barrett-Graves (rugby union).
Aussie Homes Loans Coach of the Year: Derek Murray (taekwondo), Jackson Solofa (weightlifting), Peter Reeves (running), Robert Lewis (cricket and hockey), Stacey Taurima (athletics).
Official of the Year: Aaron Gotting (hockey), Claudia Murray (taekwondo), Jordan Harton (basketball).
