Get ready to retune your digital TV again
THE TV retune is coming to several areas of the Darling Downs from July 30.
Some channels in areas of the Darling Downs will soon be changing frequencies.
These moves are part of a national retune program that will free up broadcasting spectrum for new services such as mobile broadband.
The date of the retune for each area depends on which tower viewers receive their signal from.
KEY DATES:
- Crows Nest viewers will need to retune their TV on July 30 after 3.30pm.
- Miles viewers will need to retune their TV on August 4 after 3.30pm.
- Tara viewers will need to retune their TV on August 5 after 3.30pm.
- Toowoomba and surrounds viewers will need to retune their TV from August 12 after 3.30pm.
Retuning is done using the remote.
For most systems, press the "menu" button on the remote.
Look for settings such as "channels" or "auto-tuning" and follow the prompts to retune.
A video and three-step guide to retuning is available on the website.

The retune is scheduled to avoid evenings and weekends.
There may be some temporary disruption to all TV services on retune day.
Service outages on the days before and after the retune may also be necessary, due to work being conducted at the transmission site.
As the retune simply moves free-to-air TV channels to a new location on the broadcast spectrum, it is unlikely to change TV reception or coverage.
For more information about the retune, scheduled outages, or to sign up for an SMS or email reminder, visit the retune website, or call the Digital Ready Information Line on 1800201013, 8am to 10pm (AEST), seven days.
