Charmaine Wilson, the happy medium
A MEDIUM is a person who can connect to those who have passed away, and serve as a bridge with those still living in this world.
A medium cannot predict the future, of guess lotto numbers, but their gift is one there are no manual guides for, and it faces cynicism and disbelief.
Brisbane-based medium Charmaine Wilson will make an appearance in Ballina this month.

Wilson explained the vast majority of her show consists in connecting as many people in the audience to their loved ones that have passed away as possible.
"I do that to help everybody in the audience understand that the spirit world does exist within our dimension," she said.
"The last quarter of the show I so spend it talking about ways you an recognise spirits in your own life, the way you can handle grief after losing someone very special, and I also offer an inspirational message, and this year my message is all about kindness and encouraging people to be kind."
Charmaine Wilson said during her appearances she feels physically pulled towards some people to connect with them.
"It is exactly like that, it's a magnetic field connected between a and area of the public and me, and 99% of the time I can pick the correct person I need to talk to," she said.
The medium said it's the spirit world that picks who will be read any particular evening, and she unable to pick them herself.
"I've tried before, I've said no, this lady is crying her eyes out, I have to read her, and it never works, so I just decided I'm only going to where I'm directed."
Wilson was 38 when she understood she was a medium and now at 52, she feels she is completely able to deal with it.
"Life had to prepare me to what was about to happen, because I lost my brother, my four-year old daughter, my father and my grandfather so that prepared me to face the grief I was about to face," she said.
"A medium faces, every single day, the raw grief of those who are just in that horrible mess, and having lost a child, a parent, a sibling makes me understand how that grief works and more sympathetic of those I am reading."
