THE man who staged a public protest against the state of unemployment on the Fraser Coast last month is still without a job.

Chad Delandre, 25, chanted "what do I want? A job! When do I want it? Now!" outside of Epic Employment on April 26, but despite a number of promising developments since, he told the Chronicle he was still without paid employment.

Further meetings with Epic saw an overhaul of his resume, along with meetings with Stickit Rural Training to discuss options for a training course designed to get him a job in the agriculture industry.

"Epic Employment has forwarded my resume for multiple jobs with no success," he said.

"I am begging anyone throughout the Wide Bay to contact Epic Employment if they would have a position for me."

Chad said he had a lot of transferable skills, with many safety tickets acquired.

"I'm willing to work 6am till 6pm, all I ask that I am outdoors," he said.

Chad is one of many struggling to find a job in the region, with the Wide Bay unemployment figures higher than the average across Queensland so far this year.
