Celebrity chef to share love of food with Toowoomba

CELEBRITY chef Alastair McLeod will visit Toowoomba on Saturday to share his love of food with residents.

He is best known for his roles on Network 10's Ready Steady Cook and Channel 7's Great Day Out.

He will be at Grand Central's Market Room on Saturday, hosting cooking demonstrations from 10am until after 2pm.

Grand Central marketing manager Marieke Bridgeman said there had been a fantastic response from the community.

"Alastair has an enthusiasm for all things food that is infectious. We're thrilled he's coming to Grand Central to share his knowledge and love of food with customers," she said.

"He will be conducting three unique cooking demonstrations, creating his favourite autumn dishes with fresh produce from Grand Central's Market Room retailers including Andrew's Meats, Central Seafood Market and Toowoomba Fresh.

"We're welcoming the community to just come along on Saturday and take in a demonstration or two."

Ms Bridgeman said the centre would also be providing take home recipe cards and shopping lists to fuel people's culinary inspiration.

Grand Central's indoor markets also continue this weekend, with a great range of local businesses showcasing their products near where the cooking demonstrations will take place.

The demonstrations are free and residents are welcome to attend one, or all of them.
