Celeb chefs share beefy knowledge ahead of Beef Australia

CHEFS and apprentices had the chance this week to hear from some of Australia's best chefs, Matt Golinski and Shane Bailey.

Organised by Beef Australia, the celebrity chefs came to Rockhampton for a free workshop for those in the hospitality industry.

The workshop was held to help restaurants enhance all things beef on their menu in the lead up to Beef Australia 2018, May 6-12.

Audience members had the chance to view the celebrity chefs in action as they spoke about the best cuts of beef to use and how to cook them.

"Let's hope we inspire a few people here today with what we are doing, ” Matt Golinski said.

"It's about showing the different cuts and giving the chance to actually try them and see how awesome they are.”

The focus of the workshop was on secondary cuts of beef chefs can use, instead of the everyday eye fillets and prime ribs.

The celebrity chefs spoke to the crowd about beef cheeks, oyster blades, hanger steaks and ox tails.

"It's about people wanting to try new things as well as trying these secondary cuts,” Mr Golinski said.
