AUSTRALIAN RULES: The Gympie Cats' junior teams have had a season to remember.

This year has seen our Under-12 team finish second and U14 team finish the regular season on top of the ladder.

The U14 side has had a great season and even if they don't happen to win the decider in September they can hold their head high knowing they have achieved so much in season 2017.

The under-12's have had an interesting season this year and while they started slow the team came together at the right end of the year.

They went from fourth to second with coach Price Hill saying he has tried to mold his team into a force to be reckoned with.

The Cats' U12 team has had a lot of young players, who are destined for great things in the game.

The youngest player in the team is just nine-years-old.

He is taking on players who are three years older than him.

Yet every week he in there getting the footy and laying a tackle and showing up players older than him.

Price mentioned that his team have bonded together and played as a unit all year long.

They have gone about setting goals and knocking walls down and as a team hope to achieve their final goal of bringing home the premiership for the Gympie Cats.

Tomorrow sees both teams playing their finals at home at the Cattery here in Gympie

Games start from 9am but our U12 side does not take the field until 10.45am when they take on minor premiers Maroocyhdoore.

Our U14's take on Hinterland at 2.15pm with both teams aiming for the week's rest and direct path to the grand final in Maroochydore in two weeks.

They will try and avoid having to travel to Caloundra next week to take on the winner of the other final.
