Cathy Freeman field ruined by vandals

THE CATHY Freeman oval has been torn to shreds by vandals at the weekend.

The oval which is home to Slade Point Athletics and Slade Point Rugby Union now has muddy tyre marks running through it in all directions.

Kellie Adams said both clubs were struggling community based organisations and would now have to fix the vandalism.

She said it's not the first time this type of thing has happened and needs to stop.

Police have been contacted about the crime and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
