LIKE most good ideas that materialise on an ordinary afternoon, it took Casino Truck Show committee president Stuart George a few blokes with the help of a few beers conceive what has become one of Australia's premiere truck events.
"The idea was originally floated the late Tiny Lollback, Darren Goodwin and myself,” Mr George said.
"It transpired over a few beers over the afternoon, and here we are today, it's been surprising how successful it's become.”
This year will be no different, the North Coast Petroleum Casino Truck Show is bringing back all the favourites bigger and better than ever, kicking off with a rolling truck parade to the city centre.
The CBD will be closed off to guarantee enough space to celebrate the sixth birthday of the event and over $2000 worth of prizemoney will be up for grabs.
Market and food stalls, industry displays, raffles and live music, will all come together to make the event one great family day out.
"It just every year it gets bigger and bigger, the parade and take over of the main street is also very unique and we envisage well over 100 trucks taking part,” Mr George said.
"It is always a sight to see so many done up trucks in the middle of Casino.”
The event attracts over 150 trucks to town and is supported by both local and interstate truck companies and businesses.
Mr George was keen to acknowledge the valuable support of NTI and Westlawn Finance who have put their hands up to be the naming sponsor for this year's Casino Truck Parade.
