Casino show ready to roll

SO MANY truck drivers drive past each other on the highways every day, but very rarely do they sit down and chat these days.

That's the view of Darren Goodwin, the co-founder of the Casino Truck Show.

But now, many years on, he said drivers make the pilgrimage to Casino in country New South Wales.

"We have a handful of drivers who have been to every show from day dot and are proud to be a part of it,” he said.

Darren came up with the idea for the show, realising there was a "niche to be filled” and got his friend the late Tiny Lolback, who he described as a "guru of the transport industry” involved and the rest is history.

Beef Week organisers got involved and helped to get it off the ground.

"It's really a great day for the whole family,” Darren said.

This year's show will be held on Saturday, August 3 and is sponsored by North Coast Petroleum.

Darren said trucks will assemble for the Westlawn Finance truck parade at the Casino Industrial Estate and registrations will also be taken here between 6am and 9.45am, before the parade at 10am sharp.

Entry is $30 per truck.

After the mighty parade is over and trucks parked in the Casino CBD, drivers, families and spectators will be treated to some world class stunts by Australia's Number One street bike stunt rider Dave

McKenna.

Dave is certain to light the streets up on his Yamaha 850cc MT09 and one of a kind supercharged 1000cc Yamaha MT10 drift bike.

The presentation will be at 2pm, where the Tiny Lollback Rig of The Show will be presented along with $1000 cash to the lucky winner.

Winners of the Top 5 Judged Elite Trucks, proudly supported by Bling Man HQ, will get $200.

Also, just by entering your truck in the North Coast Petroleum Casino Truck Show you could walk away with four Lelox Smooth Stainless guards or a voucher from Pearlcraft to get your steering wheel pearled.

After the show there will be plenty to do at all the pubs and clubs, live music and promotions.

On Sunday morning there will be fresh breakfasts cooked.

Any questions about the event or being involved in the parade, please call the Beef Week office on 0266628181 or Darren Goodwin on 0424340330.
