Call for Sunshine Coast Sports Hall of Fame nominations

MULTI SPORT: Sunshine Coast Sports Hall of Fame officials are calling for nominations, ahead of this year's induction ceremony.

The University of the Sunshine Coast-based initiative recognises the achievements of the region's athletes who have reached the highest levels in their sports.

Previous inductees include the likes of tennis legend Pat Rafter, rugby league icon Mal Meninga and Olympic great Clint Robinson.

Swimmer Melanie Wright was added to the honour roll last year.

Nominees must have started their sports careers on the Sunshine Coast or been a resident of the Sunshine Coast while competing.

To be inducted, they must be retired from their sport.

Officials are also calling for nominations for certificate of merits, which are awarded to administrators, coaches and officials of their longevity and contribution to sport in the region.

For more information and to access a nomination form, contact Anne Steward on 5430 2867 or email asteward@usc.edu.au.
