Byron Bay makes the switch to digital TV today

BYRON Bay residents have to retune their televisions today as channels switch frequencies in the move to digital TV.

Channels affected by the switch in Australia's final move to digital TV are SBS, Prime 7 and Southern Cross Ten.

People will need to retune their digital TV, set-top box or digital TV recorder to find the channels that have moved.

If viewers are missing channels, they can start by pressing the menu button on their remote then look for their "set-up" options.

Next, they should select words like channels or auto-tuning.

Viewers are advised to record setting for their favourite channel, program recordings or parental lock settings before they retune as retuning might delete these settings.

People having difficulty retuning their equipment should check their manufacturer's handbook or manual for instructions on how to retune.

Anyone still experiencing difficulty can visit the Digital Ready website or call the Digital Ready Information Line on 1800 201 013.
