Business is booming for Natrad

NATRAD, Australia's most recognised and trusted radiator and air-conditioning specialist group is looking to grow its franchise numbers by 50%during the next five years.

Natrad has 80 franchise workshops in regional and metropolitan areas around Australia.

Natrad regional manager Graham Norris said the growth of the franchise would likely come from non-radiator businesses seeking to join the franchise.

"The growth for us will come from existing businesses that are looking to diversify - businesses such as air-conditioning specialists, motor mechanics, auto electricians, industrial automatic industry professionals etc," Mr Norris said.

"We are fast becoming an auto care professional, offering all kinds of mechanical solutions in addition to being radiator specialists.

The Natrad franchise model was launched in 1984 as an efficient supply chain to service both retail aftermarket and trade customers.

In 2006 the Adrad Group of Companies acquired the parent company Natra.

Natrad has earned an iconic reputation within the motor repair industry - the parent company Natra was a major supplier in the past to the likes of Holden and Ford.

Natrad has the largest range of sourced radiator products in the country, with 10 major warehouses located around Australia.

Following the acquisition in 2006, Natrad completed a rationalisation program, the goal being to develop a strong retail- focused group of outlets that could be taken to market and grown.

Natrad reduced the number of store numbers, redeveloped its franchise model, enhanced its systems and processes and launched a new strategy to grow.

According to Natrad national marketing manager Sara Ghanavati, the current network of franchises clearly represents the strategic direction of the brand.

"We needed to conduct the review and restructure to ensure we had uniformity and committed franchisees throughout the group," Sara said.

"Across Australia, we are unquestionably the leader in the radiator and auto air-conditioning market.

"This has arisen as a result of having a retail presence and a strong national network backed by Australia's largest radiator supplier - Adrad.

"We have also ensured that we have moved with changing market demands.

"We have never forgotten about or compromised service to our trade customers whilst at the same time placing more energy and emphasis on growing the retail side of the business.

"It was a case for us of reassessing direction and consolidating the franchise group in order to grow and move forward and this is now occurring.

"Our new franchisees will be people both inside and outside of the industry, as well as existing automotive workshops looking for the support and strength of a national brand.

"A Natrad specialist is an expert in diagnosis, replacement, fitment and a range of cooling services.

"Regular mechanics rarely have the tools, expertise and equipment to properly repair a cooling system.

"Equally, a Natrad technician has specific equipment to accurately diagnose and repair all automotive air-conditioning problems.

"They are skilled and licenced as quality repairers.

"Being part of a national franchise also exposes you to national marketing campaigns, nationwide advertising programs and the opportunity and support of belonging to a well-known, highly respected national brand.

"We're certainly looking forward to hearing from anyone keen to 'Nip into Natrad." Phone 03 9795 1255 for more details.
