Bush Tucker Inn holds successful State of Origin night
WE ARE always delighted to have news from our ex-pat Kiwi/Tasmanian Jan Pierpoint currently at the Bush Tucker Inn at Barragan in New South Wales, where her traditional hospitality is gathering a loyal following amongst truckies up there!
She tells us their recent State of Origin evening was a huge success with about 50 rigs calling in to watch the game on the big screen.
Just prior to this in late May she was happy to welcome a line-up of in excess of 20 trucks who called in for their evening meal, with the majority of the drivers being from Grant's Transport.
It seems to me that there is more than a shadow of the success of the Bagdad Café going on here, the 1987 German film which was an acclaimed comedy set in a remote truck-stop café and motel in the Mojave Desert in the US state of California.
Good luck to you Jan and Daryl.
