Brown and Hurley raise $31k for bushfire victims

THE Brown and Hurley Barbeque Bushfire Fundraiser was held last Tuesday at all Brown and Hurley branches throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales.

The fundraiser was held to raise money to provide support to the victims of the recent bushfires in NSW and QLD.

"As many of our staff and customers are part of the communities affected by the current bushfire crisis, we feel it is important to be involved in raising much needed funds," Brown and Hurley chief executive officer Paul Hurley said.

"I'd like to thank all of the Brown and Hurley staff, customers and general public who came along, grabbed lunch and donated so generously."

All funds that were raised on Tuesday have been matched dollar for dollar by The Brown and Hurley Group.

The fundraiser was a great success and raised $31,246 which is going to be split between the Australian Red Cross and the Rural Fire Service of NSW and QLD to help all those affected.
