Brothers in arms on Australian tour

IT HAS been a big 12 months for Guy Sebastian.

Last year, he not only came fifth in the Eurovision song contest but he also returned to X Factor as a judge.

He made headlines while on X Factor when a twitter feud broke out between himself and Sunshine Coaster Jimmy

Davis who called the X Factor a "game show". Guy felt that Jimmy was being ungrateful for the opportunity that had been given to him.

The two have since made up and moved on. Guy is touring the country, taking in regional centres including the Sunshine

Coast where he is performing tonight at The Events Centre, Caloundra, for his You ... Me ... Us Tour.

Guy has made a surprising but great choice in picking the act that will join him around regional Australia during his tour.

Instead of going for one of his better-known friends from the music industry, he has decided to bring his brother Chris along for the ride.

"There were many people who wanted to get on the tour," he says.

"I had so many requests from support acts, and it's almost 40 shows and covers the whole country so it's a big deal for somebody starting out.

"I decided I wanted to look after my bro. It's been years since we've sung together.

"I am in a creative world with my little brother and I am taking him on tour."

Chris Sebastian was on the Voice in 2012 and is an amazing singer and performer in his own right.

But as most siblings who have an older talented brother or sister would know, it can be hard to move out of their shadow.

Guy will also bring all your favourites to The Events Centre including his 20th top-20 hit Black and Blue, which shows a major transition for Guy from soul, pop and R'n'B to hints of EDM, which has been on the rise in the music scene in the past 12 months.

Guy accredits most of his newfound inspiration to online streaming: "I stream my arse off. I have never listened to more music in my life."

Tickets are still available at guysebastian.com or theeventscentre.com.au
