Bringing us into line with other nations

PERSONALLY I think Turnbull has turned his act around and is doing an excellent job.

Particularly, in the area of homeland security and toughening up of immigration rules.

The new Home Affairs Ministry brings us into line with other countries like America and Britain.

We tend to take national security for granted as a country and adopt the 'she will be alright mate' attitude when in fact, if we fail in this critical area nothing else matters.

Mainly because we have not experienced a Paris bombing or a Boston marathon attack or Borough market bloodbath in London.

The Martin Place Lindt Cafe incident is just a tiny blip in the list of terrorist attack ratings.

Not surprised Shorten is negative to the Home Affairs Ministry proposal because, as proved, Labor performance in this area has been woeful.

Therefore, Shorten's opinion is worthless.

The question is in a three-horse carriage the best result is achieved with one driver, not three.

With one person in control an immediate response can be achieved in emergencies and that is critical for the most effective outcome.
