Brides inspired at Coast expo

MORE than 400 wedding inspiration seekers were treated to options at the Fraser Coast Bridal and Formal Expo yesterday at the Hervey Bay PCYC.

About 95 mostly local stalls exhibited their wedding wares ranging from lace-trimmed stationery, celebrant services, venues, photography, food, table-settings, bridal couture and Argyle pink diamonds worth $30,000.

Organiser Pieta Bates, from Estella Events, said some brides planning to marry on the Fraser Coast had travelled from the Gold Coast and Perth to attend the expo.

Ms Bates said the Fraser Coast was well set up for weddings and flights to and from Sydney had allowed the area to become a choice.

"It's a destination wedding plus it is affordable," she said.

Ms Bates said a key advantage to planning a wedding on the Fraser Coast was that brides-to-be could shop in person rather than online and still get a quality product without breaking the bank.

Bride Katelyn Darlington said the expo had inspired her with its themed wedding choices.

"There is a lot more than I thought and now I think $7000 for a wedding," Ms Darlington said.
