The 48-46 score line was obviously tight and while coach Glenn Warren was relieved with the win, he knows the pressure is now on to back it up.

"We still went into the game confident,” Warren said.

"We have not been far away from a win but in saying that, our skills were dreadful today.

"We were missing targets and our forward line entry was pretty ordinary.

"Our defence was good again but our work rate around the ground still needs to lift.

"But I told the boys at quarter time to keep doing the little things right and things will start to go our way.”

The Cats now have a two week hiatus, with the representative round this week, before a bye the week after.

The women's match however was a different affair with the Cats beaten convincingly 46-19 by competition heavy weights Aspley.
