Man freed from Mackay railway track

UPDATE 11.30am: A 60-year-old man has been freed after becoming stuck between the railway track and platform at Mackay Railway Station.

A Mackay police spokesman said the man hadn't suffered any serious injuries.

He was taken by ambulance to Mackay Base Hospital just before 10.30am.

A freight train was on the tracks at the time.

UPDATE 10AM: One person is trapped between the railway line and the platform at Mackay Railway Station at Paget.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman confirmed crews were working to free the person.

Queensland Rail has been contacted for comment.

EARLIER: Multiple emergency services crews are at the scene of an incident at Mackay Railway Station at Paget.

Early reports indicate a person has been trapped on the railway tracks.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed crews were attending the incident but would not release any further information.
