Brayden learns about industry at BTS

SEEKING out options for a potential career in a transport-related field was the reason for Brayden Powis to check out this year's Brisbane Truck Show.

The 15-year-old was making his first visit to the event at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and was impressed with the jobs centre at the show, which presented a range of employment pathways available to school-leavers.

A Year 10 student at the Sandgate District State High School, Brayden is part of the on-site Trade School which includes automotive and construction units, along with the traditional courses of study.

"I am looking at taking on a trade in the industry. Here I can look and see the career paths in transport and get a bit of a feel for what I might want to do," he said.

Brayden lives at Brighton and had made his way to the BCEC with other members of his class as part of a school excursion.
