Preparations underway for library opening

LIBRARY manager Sandra Crawford is more than happy to scrub the shelves in the old Miriam Vale Shire Council building before shifting her entire library there.

The Miriam Vale library is returning to the Miriam Vale administration centre, after being run out of a house next door while renovations were undertaken.

That house will be restored and sold off.

The new library will have rooms for children's craft, young adults, computers and a place to read newspapers.

The safe, where the shire council documents were kept, will be turned into a PlayStation room.

The library will be closed for a week from Monday while resources are moved.

It will re-open on August 18 ahead of the official opening on August 25.
