ANTICIPATION is growing as the official release date of the Chronicle's latest publication - The Faces that Shaped a Region - draws closer.

Chronicle general manager Darren Bosley said the publication, which will be launched on Monday, December 8, was sure to be popular with Fraser Coast residents and visitors alike.

"The book has 68 full-gloss pages and provides a snapshot of 30 people and families who have helped shape the region over the past 150 years," Mr Bosley said.

"The undertaking was a major effort and required countless hours of research, interviewing, writing and sourcing the many photographs that go to make up the publication.

"The entire team involved in the production is very proud of the end result - and rightly so."

Editor of the publication, Alan Betteridge said the book was sure to become a treasured addition to people's libraries.

"This edition is volume one, with a second volume to be produced next year," Mr Betteridge said.

"It is a high quality product and reasonably priced and would make a wonderful Christmas gift.

"It is sure to become very collectable over the coming years."

The Faces that Shaped a Region will be officially launched at 5pm on December 8 at Gatakers Artspace in Maryborough.
