Blue over Bianca's roach malady

FOR years Bianca McMahon has been battling with a bad illness.

Her symptoms include an irrational fear of winning, favouring the colour blue and an acceptance of those nasty little cockroaches.

Kelly Edwards has always been there for her delusional friend.

But this week tensions are tight between them. It might even be a stretch to call them friends at the moment.

You see, Bianca is of the ilk that prefers rugby league teams representing a state south of the border.

She lives in a make-believe world where New South Wales rustles up a squad worthy of support.

Kelly is the more level-headed Queensland supporter.

The 16-year-old Year 12 students at St John’s College at Nambour have a rivalry that stretches for years. Things could be prickly between the pair come Thursday.

Bets are on for tomorrow night’s State of Origin series decider.

“The bet is if Queensland wins she has to wear my jersey,” maroon Kelly said.

But after so many Queensland wins, Bianca refuses to wear the maroon jersey.
