Blackbutt students spoil mums

BLACKBUTT mums, grandmothers and special carers were treated to a special pampering afternoon in the lead-up to Mother's Day.

Blackbutt State School students in Prep to Year 2 enjoyed spoiling the special ladies in their lives on the tiger turf at the school last Friday.

They were pampered with facials, pedicures and manicures, presented by the tiny hands of the lower school students.

Students captured some happy memories with their special ladies in a photo booth and through making biscuits and cool pasta necklaces and bracelets.

The school P&C held a Mother's Day stall for the students from the school to find a special gift for mum earlier in the week.

The stall gifts ranged from $1 to $10 so every student could find something for the special lady in their life.

Principal Gayle Williamson said the activities and stalls gave students the opportunity to reflect on how special their mums were.

"No matter what the cost of a gift is for mum, it is the thought that counts,” she said.

The students each chose a gift and presented it to their mum over the weekend in a special Mother's Day bag and card to match, Mrs Williamson said.

"It was a great way to show mums, grandmothers and carers just how special they are to their children, she said.

The principal wanted to thank the hard-working P&C mums who put in a lot of work to select the range of suitable gifts, encourage the students to pick the right gift.

They also took care of the stall over two days so students who could not make up their minds on a gift were able to pick out the perfect gift for their mum, Mrs Williamson said.
