BEARS usually go into hibernation when their home is hit by a winter's blast.
But there was only hyper-nation when a black bear mother and her three cubs were given an icy treat at the Oakland Zoo in the US.
A video shot by the zoo showed the cubs going into overdrive as they bounded, bounced and dug into their mountain of ice while their mother gnawed on a chilled steak.
The family were moved to the zoo after mum received a reprieve from death row following her attack on a woman in California.
Black bears are to be euthanized if they attack or injure a human but the three cubs hadn't yet been weaned and the zoo needed the family for its California Trail exhibit.
