Bingo! Andy wins $1000 in fuel vouchers

QUEENSLAND Times subscriber Andy Vellacott has a thousand reasons to smile after being named as the first winner of the QT's Bill Busters Bingo.

Just for reading his paper every day, and keeping track of his bingo numbers, Mr Vellacott won $1,000 in fuel vouchers.

"I am over the moon, this is the first time I have taken out a prize in the QT," Mr Vellacott said.

The 54-year-old grandfather said he moved to Ipswich in 1990, who runs his own lawn care business, said he has been reading the QT for 'years'.

Winning was as easy as matching the numbers, he said, and calling the QT when he had filled the panel.

"All you have to do is read the paper and mark off the numbers."

A long-time subscriber to the QT, Mr Vellacott said he will definitely be renewing his home delivery subscription.

As a big fan of local sport, especially the Ipswich Rugby League, Mr Vellacott said the QT was the best place to get Ipswich sport news.

"I am the manager of the A-Grade side for Goodna, it is great to see our team in the QT," he said.

Sport is not the only thing Mr Vellacott looks for in his newspaper each day.

"I love doing Sudoku, so the puzzle page is a favourite for me," he added.
