Biggest moon in almost 20 years
ON March 19, 2011 the moon will be at its closest point to Earth.
The result: the biggest moon we have seen in almost 20 years.
Called a lunar perigee, this phenomenon is the result of the moon following an elliptical path around Earth - as opposed to a perfect circle - that brings the moon 50,000km closer to our planet on one side of its orbit.
The last time the moon was this close was in 1993.
Dubbed by astrologers as a "supermoon" it is expected to be 14 per cent bigger and 30 per cent brighter than other full moons.
So get your camera ready because Finda would like your photos. Send us your photos of the "supermoon" and we'll add them to our photo gallery.
