Big Boys Toys Expo: Everything you need to know
MACKAY'S second Big Boys Toys Expo is set to be bigger, louder, faster and stronger this year, with more machinery on display than ever before.
Guests can expect to see everything from monster trucks, boats and bikes to luxury cars, trucks, jet skis and caravans.
Camping, fishing, sporting and fitness lovers will also find stalls and gizmos of interest, along with gamers and outdoor adventurers.
The expo will showcase local products and services only, along with every toy known to man.
DETAILS
Where: Mackay Showgrounds, 24 Milton St Mackay.
When: Saturday and Sunday. July 29 and 30, 9am to 3pm
Parking: There is street parking available on the day as well as some at the grounds which will be free.
Entry: Entry to the showgrounds will be via the Milton St entrance.
ATTRACTIONS
Monster trucks will be doing mini shows throughout both days, with the Devil's Taxi doing wheelies, ramp jumps and spins
Other attractions include the Formula 500 Karts, Nitro Harley, Zahara Racing Team and a huge ski and race boat display featuring over 30 boats.
Fishing lovers can have a go on the cast simulator, while the Barefoot Fisherman will be putting on fishing tips and tricks.
There are also a lot of caravans, campers and trailers this year, with more gadgets, off-the-grid and high-tech stuff on display, there will be something for everyone.
SHOW SCHEDULE
The expo will open at 9am.
From 10.30am - Monster Truck Show and Daredevil Wheelie Motorbike
From 11am - QSES will be doing a one hour Jaws of Life display cutting open a car.
From 12pm - Monster Truck Show and Daredevil Wheelie Bikes Show.
From 1.30pm - Monster Truck Show and Daredevil Wheelie Bike Show.
From 2pm - Nitro Harley starting up.
FOR THE KIDS
Kids will enjoy a fun day out too with raceway slot cars, a big green tractor, huge Spiderman, rides on a Little Squirt fire truck with real firemen, and Peppa Pig meet and greets from 10am to 1pm on Sunday.
CHARITY
Proceeds from the event will go toward breast and brain cancer research at Pink Ribbon and the Brain Cancer Foundation, with organisers hoping to hit the $6000 mark this year.
PRIZES
There'll also be prizes to be won through raffles, including a ride on a luxury boat, $500 glamping voucher, passes to the Airlie Beach Music Festival, jewellery packs and memorabilia.
