Ben fronts best videos in the world

BEST Job in the World winner Ben Southall will remain a local identity thanks to a series of promotional videos launched by Cruise Whitsundays this week.

Mr Southall is the frontman for the videos shot last year, promoting both the company and the region to a global audience via the world wide web.

Cruise Whitsundays sales manager Tracy Evans said promotional video content was vital for tourism operators these days.

"YouTube is the world's second largest search engine and the travelling public is keener than ever to really get a feel for a destination before they visit via video," she said.

"Ben Southall has a long association with the Whitsundays and his lovable, energetic and fun nature perfectly suits Cruise Whitsundays both as a business and [its] appeal to our customers."

Ms Evans said the videos were all filmed and produced by Mr Southall throughout 2014 "whenever we could get glamour Whitsundays weather".

"And we are so excited to finally launch them," she said.

"Not only have we produced individual videos for each of our cruises but we have [also] produced an Airlie Beach video and an overall Whitsundays destination piece under our Awesome Whitsundays brand, so the whole region is set to benefit from these videos, and we welcome other tourism businesses to share them via their own networks."

The videos have been uploaded across Cruise Whitsundays and Awesome Whitsundays' assets including their social media sites. They can also be viewed on Cruise Whitsundays YouTube Channel and on the Awesome Whitsundays home page.
