Being prepared crucial part of an agenda for useful meeting
CLUBS are encouraged to consider how they can get the most from meetings.
That's where recommendations are made, directions are given and courses of action are decided.
For this to happen, there needs to be a structure in place. Without a structure, results can be unproductive and dissatisfying.
Prior to the meeting, an agenda is prepared and circulated to all members.
This agenda forms the structure of the meeting. It states where and when the meeting will take place and what matters will be discussed.
A draft copy of the minutes of the previous meeting, along with any other relevant material that the members should read prior to the meeting, should be distributed at the same time as the agenda.
What you can do to be an active and effective member of the meeting:
- be well prepared;
- make sure you have read the agenda;
- be aware of the topics to be discussed;
- be involved;
- be a good listener.
